RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Heritage Premium Meats (Burke, Dan's Prize, Sadler's Smokehouse, and Jennie-O Private Label Turkey), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hormel Foods Corporation, has an opportunity for a Foodservice Regional Sales Manager in the Mid-South Region. Burke operates in Nevada, IA and produces a variety of fully cooked crumbles, toppings, meatballs, and diced items.  Dan's Prize operates manufacturing plants in Long Prairie and Browerville, Minn. and produces roast beef, corned beef, prime rib, pastrami and other cooked meats for foodservice and deli operators.  Sadler's Smokehouse operates in Henderson, TX and produces authentic pit smoked meats for foodservice, retail, and deli operators.  HPM also represents the distributor private label business for the items produced at Jennie-O.   

As a Foodservice Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships and expanding business with both existing and new customers. 

Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Understanding the company's objectives, strategies, policies and practices, so you can effectively institute them with the company's brokers, distributors and customer base. 
  • Increasing existing business in current market areas and developing new business by creating opportunities and developing them, as well as identifying other opportunities by maintaining close working relationships with assigned brokers and distribution networks.
  • Managing the current broker network to maximize their efforts on behalf of the company's business and soliciting, training and assisting new brokers in developing new markets. 
  • Gaining experience in all procedures of foodservice sales, including competitive manufacturers, distributor networks and their systems, support programs, and merchandising activities. 
  • Maintaining a dynamic level of activity with all assigned brokers and distributors, to include volume and item distribution management, food show support, sales meetings, product training and end-user selling. 
  • Acting as the primary conduit between all company personnel and assigned brokers and distributors.
  • Specific development and sale of Heritage Premium Meats products to Regional Chain and Operator businesses within the region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of foodservice sales/foodservice marketing/foodservice sales strategy experience.
  • A pattern of initiative.
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational skills and analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Travel: 70%

Location: This is a home office position with a flexible location within the Mid-South region located next to a major airport (Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi). 

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $91,500 - $128,200 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
