Young Life Northeast Texas Region is prayerfully seeking a Regional Development Director to join our fun-loving, collaborative, "kid-first" leadership team. The mission of Young Life to is introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith

The Northeast Texas Young Life Region is known for its trailblazing work serving under resourced populations and a diverse group of kids, through focus ministries. Current ministry in active areas include service to high school, middle school, and college aged students, with focused ministries to teen parents and friends with special needs. With dynamic energy for growth, this region is seeking a new leader for this new position, to ensure Young Life is in every community - reaching every kind of kid.

The Development Director will focus on fundraising strategies to advance ministry across forty counties, including under-resourced areas, ministry start ups and ministry initiatives. They will be responsible for leading and managing the region's fund development efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to the mission of Young Life and a proven track record in fundraising. They will have a heart for faith-based philanthropy, be a visionary communicator, and be highly relational. Key attributes of success in this role will center around growth in annual support, as well as a widening of the donor base.

Spiritual Development

  • Maintain personal spiritual rhythms.
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life including time for solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer and a sincere commitment to understanding God's Word.
  • Ensure that all Young Life ministry is designed and carried out with a dependence on prayer that takes place out of the overflow of a healthy soul and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Resource Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to support the region's annual needs. This plan can include major donors, annual gifts, corporate and foundation gifts, and new donor acquisition opportunities
  • Manage and actively grow a regional donor portfolio by lead prospecting and donor research, setting and meeting benchmarks toward long-term, sustainable growth and gift solicitation
  • Coordinate corporate and foundation giving, stewarding and developing relationships, writing compelling proposals and ensuring appropriate reporting.
  • Ensure the successful execution of donor events
  • Steward relationship with board members, local committees, and key volunteers as assigned by regional director
  • Create and implement donor cultivation plans to build and maintain relationships. This includes donor portfolios for the Regional Director and other key team members
  • Coordinate relevant communications functions and marketing items to reach external audiences
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to ensure effective stewardship and ongoing efforts. Tracking donor engagement and retention rates, analyzing revenue streams. Make data-driven decisions that help the region achieve its fundraising goals.

Ministry Support and Leadership Development

  • Assist regional director in casting vision for reaching "every kid" within the region.
  • Assist regional director, as assigned, in the development and implementation of regional trainings, especially those specific to fundraising.
  • Maintain professionalism concerning office hours, dress, conduct and time management.
  • Provide clear, prompt, appropriate and professional communication to everyone within the scope of ministry.
  • Maintain excellent, comprehensive donor records.
  • Utilize appropriate systems for reporting, expense report responsibilities and the use of regional funds using Young Life accounting applications.
  • Set yearly strategic ministry plan growth and initiatives to grow the ministry; review them on a regular basis.
  • Accept both short- and long-term assignments of projects.

Qualifications:

  • Dedicated Christ-follower, committed to Young Life's statement of faith
  • Three-five years fund development or sales experience.
  • Highly relational individual, with a passion for working with adults, for the sake of kids
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Education:
BA preferred
