Job description

With our rapid growth and commitment to operational excellence, Success Academy Charter Schools is seeking innovative Regional Operations Managers (ROM) who understand that the foundation of great schooling starts with ensuring each of our schools are a joyful environment that promotes learning through seamless operations.

The ROM is critical to Success Academy's mission to build world-class K-12 public schools in NYC while advocating to change policies that prevent children from accessing excellent educational experiences. The ROM will manage a cohort of school-based operations teams to continuously improve and deliver high-quality operational standards for their school. The ROM is a member of the network Operations Management Team, reporting to the Operations Management Lead.

At Success Academy, we invest in talent development, supporting our staff to grow in their careers and expand their impact in service of our school communities and dual mission. As such, we require a 3-year commitment for all Regional Operations Manager candidates.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Network Integration

  • System Innovation: Develop, codify and refine high-impact operational priorities, policies and procedures.
  • Data-Driven Advocacy: Serve as the primary liaison between school operations and the network to analyze regional trends, identify systemic roadblocks, and implement sustainable solutions that increase efficiency across the portfolio.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with Principals to integrate operational strategies that directly support their academic vision and drive superior learning outcomes.

Regional Talent & Performance Management

  • Managerial Oversight: Lead the full talent lifecycle for all school-based Business Operations Managers, including strategic hiring, onboarding, rigorous management, and performance evaluation.
  • Organizational Growth: Design and execute comprehensive engagement and training plans to maximize staff retention and create a robust internal leadership pipeline.
  • Performance Accountability: Manage end-to-end school operations through a team of BOMs, ensuring every site consistently meets or exceeds key operational performance indicators (KPIs) and goals.

Operational Excellence & Stewardship

  • Regional Standards: Enforce network-wide standards for safety, aesthetics, and health protocols to ensure a uniform "high bar" across all schools.
  • Resource Management: Oversee regional logistics and financial health, ensuring BOMs have the tools and training necessary to manage school budgets and facilities effectively.

We invite you to apply if:

  • You have a four-year college degree.
  • You have worked as a leader in a school for at least 2 years.
  • You are flexible, ambitious, and an effective communicator.
  • You have a growth mindset, grit, humility, and a willingness to 'roll up your sleeves'.
  • You are a resourceful problem-solver who proactively shares best practices that drive our operational excellence; and a relentless learner who seeks out information needed to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to indirectly manage and influence other stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
  • You have a belief in what is possible and use data to drive toward outcomes despite changing circumstances.
