Job description

This position is accountable for overall regional budgeting, performance, operational effectiveness, and efficiency, including sales, operations, and P&L results. The SVP, West Region is responsible for developing and executing the long-term strategic plan for the region, identifying market gaps and opportunities, upgrading talent, and ensuring high-quality, effective, and efficient delivery of products and services. This role partners closely with executive leadership and cross-functional leaders to execute strategic priorities and drive alignment across the organization.
The SVP, West Region is expected to model the core cultural competencies of RESA and operate with a "One RESA" mindset, fostering collaboration, consistency, and accountability throughout the region. This position is also responsible for regional financial and operational reporting.
Job Responsibilities
  • Accountable for developing and executing 1-, 3-, and 5-year regional growth plans. Establishes business strategy and growth objectives for the West Region and aligns leadership teams to achieve those goals. Maintains strong understanding of the marketplace, including regulations, labor, finance, technology, competition, logistics, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and retaining within the region. Conducts interviews, completes performance reviews, and serves as a mentor to regional leaders. Establishes and reviews professional development goals and ensures teams remain engaged, motivated, and productive.
  • Develops talent across the West Region and ensures strong succession planning for all key leadership roles.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and strategic partners.
  • Responsible for developing the regional budget and optimizing expenses while ensuring location P&Ls meet or exceed company expectations.
  • Identifies opportunities for greenfield expansion, M&A targets, and acquisition integration support within the West Region.
  • Reviews significant projects and operational initiatives to ensure profitability targets are achieved or exceeded. Holds regional leadership accountable for financial performance and operational execution.
  • Develops, directs, and executes continuous improvement initiatives, operational best practices, and strategic business initiatives across the region.
  • Helps troubleshoot complex operational, customer, and sales challenges throughout the West Region.
  • Participates in leadership and board-level meetings regarding regional and company performance and facilitates communication with employees to provide direction and distribute company information.
  • Prepares and reviews a variety of reports, including financial, operational, forecasting, and workforce planning reports.

Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a related field or equivalent experience, along with fifteen (15) years of operations leadership experience in the Electrical Services Industry.
  • Proven leadership experience utilizing a servant leadership mindset.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding budgets and achieving forecasts.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful long-term business strategies.
  • Strong team leadership and talent development skills that drive customer satisfaction and reinforce a strong company culture. Demonstrated success managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong understanding of HSEQ, DOT, and OSHA compliance with a demonstrated history of maintaining an excellent safety record.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen with a commitment to integrity and accountability.
  • Strong sales and business development skills, including the ability to navigate complex sales environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional efforts across the organization to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements across multiple locations and teams.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
