ReGeneration Schools, founded in 2016, is a nationally ranked charter program with seven charter schools located in Illinois and Ohio. ReGeneration serves over 1800 students of whom 99% are minority and 86% are low income. U.S. News and World Reportโ€™s 2021 School Ranking listed all ReGeneration elementary schools among the top ten charter elementary schools in Illinois. ReGeneration expanded to Ohio in 2019, opening its Bond Hill campus in 2019. ReGeneration expanded in Ohio, adding two more campuses in July 2023.

We are seeking an experienced full-time School Psychologist (PEL-Psych) to support our three campuses in Chicago. This candidate will provide a full range of school psychological services to children grades K-8, including screening and assessment, individual and group counseling, and work with outside agencies as appropriate. This individual will function as a member of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team to determine students' eligibility for special services, appropriate programming, and ongoing progress.

Qualifications:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Extraordinary organization, time management, and follow-up skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.

  • Demonstrated mastery of assessment tools, effective intervention strategies, and overall special education process.

  • Belief and alignment with ReGeneration's core beliefs and educational philosophy.

  • 1-3 years experience in an urban school setting preferred.

  • Spanish bilingual preferred, but not required.

  • Valid Professional Educator License (IL Type 73) with School Psychologist Endorsement required.

Responsibilities:

  • Screen and evaluate referred children including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, observations, and writing reports which state the evaluation findings and provide for educational program recommendations.

  • Participate as a member of the IEP team, contributing evaluation findings and collaborating with all members of the team to develop education plans.

  • Consult with parents, teachers, and other staff regarding any accommodations/modifications needed for a specific child.

  • Collaborate with other RSPs to ensure that the IEP team has the best picture of a student's profile.

  • Collaborate as an expert in these areas with school staff around MTSS (RTI) implementation and Student Study Team meetings.

  • Provide direct and indirect individual and group services to children that emphasize improved educational performance and/or conduct.

  • Provide intervention strategies/collaboratively and use data to evaluate effectiveness

  • Establish and monitor necessary caseloads, work with schools and other staff to plan assessments and meetings.

  • Have a working knowledge of special education law.

  • Submit records, reports, and assignments promptly and efficiently.

  • Perform other related duties as required as assigned.

  • May be required to work outside of normal workdays and office hours to meet operational deadlines.
