A day in the life:
  • Act as the Senior Project Manager on select projects which includes providing direct supervision to Project Managers and Project Engineers
  • Recruit, train, mentor and develop teammates (Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Project Engineers); provide regular feedback
  • Ensure that performance evaluations are thorough and done on time. Review any wage adjustment suggestions with the Director of Operations/Vice President
  • Provide timely coaching, feedback and disciplinary action up to and including termination
  • Review cost-to-complete (CTC) with Project Managers and participate in monthly CTC meetings
  • Ensure that there is consistency in all project management practices
  • Assist in estimating bid reviews and sales presentations as needed
  • Assist General Manager/Vice President in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Participate in new Project Management assignments and share resources with other Project Management teams
  • Communicate changes, updates, company information, etc. to Project Management teams
  • Maintain responsibility for Cash Flow (Billings and Collections) for all projects assigned
  • Participate in division key manager meetings

You should have:
  • A minimum of 10 years related industry experience
  • Experience of hands-on management of projects with a scope of work exceeding $10m
  • Experience with leading a team of at least three managers
  • Recent project management experience with related scope of work
  • OSHA 30-hour certification and knowledge of OSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to read and understand project related documents in the English language
  • Deal diplomatically and effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to demonstrate foresight and problem-solving skills to make sound business decisions
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and willing to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and remain calm when handling emergencies
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy, make decisions based on measurable criteria and comprehend technical data
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule as required for each particular job/customer
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers which may include events after normal work hours
