Job/Position Responsibilities:
  • Group safety awareness and performance
  • Champion plant-wide improvement efforts to reduce maintenance cost and increase mechanical reliability
  • MTBF improvements for mechanical seals, mag-drive pumps, centrifuges, and other rotating/fixed equipment
  • Employee development, performance and satisfaction
  • Implement best practices for items like equipment inspections, planning & scheduling, and lubrication
  • Technical resource for root cause failure analysis, incident investigations, preventive and predictive maintenance, general maintenance, and mechanical design issues
  • Lead the Albemarle Millwrights Team
  • Manage Timesheets, Daily Safety Tailgates, OT List, Vacations/Time off, daily paperwork.
  • Answer calls on off shift hours and Supervisor on call.
  • Manage Team Backlog, Planning Jobs, Daily/Weekly Schedules
  • Responsible for getting parts onsite and contacting support groups (Machine Shops)
  • Responsible for Shutdown work, schedules, Contractor support, all shutdown Materials.
  • Constant BOM improvements and stocking critical parts.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Understanding of safe work practices; excellent safety history
  • 5 or more years' experience in maintenance or engineering
  • Supervisory skills including safety awareness of staff, budget control, scheduling, and staff development
  • Leadership skills including setting goals, priorities, and performance evaluations
  • General understanding of Engineering Standards and Specifications
  • Experience and knowledge of the design, selection, and application of process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, agitators, compressors, extruders, conveyors, centrifugal fans, gearboxes, calciners, belt filters, progressive cavity pumps, mechanical seals, machining of parts or equipment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance work practices like planning and scheduling, rigging, pipe fitting, welding, alignments, lubrication, and work order handling
  • Capital project experience including: generation of scope and estimate; design of items like plant layout and piping; equipment design and procurement; and construction
  • Strong technical and problem solving skill for mechanical design, failure analysis, and maintenance best practices
  • Good communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varied priorities and drive them to closure
  • Functional use of the corporate computer systems including use of SAP modules for maintenance, projects, and purchasing
