Job description

Our Safety-Kleen Refinery in East Chicago, IN is looking for a Site Services Technician to join their safety conscious team. You will be responsible for documentation, inventory, material handling, and minor building maintenance. In addition to handling routine inspections and preventative maintenance. This position is a great way to start building a career with Safety-Kleen. We are looking for a motivated individual who doesn't mind working out in the elements.
Union Wage: $24.00

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Receive inbound materials, repair parts, and supplies in accordance with site procedures.
  • Store materials in designated locations with proper labeling and organization
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops, tool cribs, and storage areas.
  •  Inspect shared tools and equipment, report defects or damage.
  • Stage Haz and Non-Haz drums in proper areas for storage and shipment.
  • Perform basic building maintenance such as replacing lights, repairing fixtures, and supporting minor facility upkeep.
  • Assist Mechanics and Operators in equipment preparation and jobsite setup.
  • Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment under site safety procedures.
  • Assist with installation, repair, and basic maintenance of pumps, piping, valves, and other process equipment.
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Complete routine PMs as outlined in FAM and as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Complete all PM and inspection documentation in computer systems/FAM in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Other duties as required
