About Aravaipa Running


Aravaipa Running produces trail and ultrarunning events across the Southwest and beyond. We

have been building races for over a decade and today operate more than 80 events across

seven states. We take event production seriously, and we take the community we serve even

more seriously.


About the Role


This is a part-time, hybrid position based in Colorado Springs, CO and the surrounding area.Candidates must live in Colorado's Front Range region or be willing to relocate prior to startdate.


The Digital Marketing Manager owns the day-to-day execution of Aravaipa Colorado's socialmedia and e-mail presence. Working directly with the Director of Marketing, this person isresponsible for content creation, community engagement, and race day coverage across ourColorado race portfolio. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.


Race coverage is a significant part of this job. You will be on-site at a minimum of 10 eventsthroughout the year, often starting before sunrise. The content you capture and publish in realtime is one of the most visible things Aravaipa puts into the world.


What You'll Do


Social Media Management


  • Own day-to-day publishing across Aravaipa Colorado's core social media accounts
  • Plan and schedule content in alignment with the campaign calendar set by the Directorof Marketing
  • Engage with the community by responding to comments, DMs, and tags in a timely andauthentic way
  • Monitor incoming messages for customer service needs and route them to the rightperson
  • Flag partnership, sponsorship, and collaboration inquiries to the Director of Marketing
  • Track performance and bring insights and recommendations to regular check-ins


Content Creation


  • Shoot, edit, and publish short-form video optimized for each platform
  • Capture photography at races and events for use across social, email, and otherchannels
  • Write copy for posts, captions, and social-first content
  • Maintain a consistent visual and tonal identity across all content



Race Day Coverage


This role attends and produces social content at a minimum of 10 of the following 15race weekends throughout the year:

  • Chase the Moon

  • The Bear Chase Race
  • Bobcat Trail Races
  • Louisville Trail Race


Email Marketing & Written Content


  • Write and produce email campaigns for Colorado Races including but not limited to:registration opening, price increases, general promotion emails, and communitynewsletters.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Marketing on campaign timing, brand alignment, and listsegmentation to ensure the local Colorado voice ladders up to the broader Aravaipabrand strategy and standards.
  • Source and coordinate stories and blog posts written by local runners and communitymembers, helping connect and amplify local voices to through the Aravaipa website.


Brand and Campaign Alignment


  • Execute content within brand guidelines and campaign frameworks set by the Director ofMarketing
  • Participate in regular check-ins to align on priorities, campaigns, and upcoming launches
  • Assist with content planning for major moments including Golden Ticket races,registration opens, and seasonal campaigns


Performance and Learning


  • Share a monthly performance summary covering what worked, what did not, and why
  • Stay current on platform updates, content trends, and emerging formats
  • Bring new ideas and platform insights into regular team check-ins


What We're Looking For
Required


  • 1 to 3 years managing social media accounts for a brand, organization, or public figure,or an equivalent body of demonstrated work
  • Strong short-form video skills including shooting, editing, and publishing for Instagram Reels and TikTok
  • Solid photography skills including comfort shooting outdoors and in low-light conditions
  • Proficiency with video editing tools such as CapCut, Edits, or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Canva or equivalent
  • Clear, confident writing ability for captions and social copy
  • Familiarity with Meta Business Suite and social media scheduling or analytics tools
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
  • Available to work a minimum of 10 race weekends per year with early morning starttimes
  • Genuine involvement in the trail running, ultrarunning, or broader endurance sportscommunity
  • Colorado Front Range-based or willing to relocate before start date
  • A portfolio of social media content you have created and published


Preferred


  • Experience coordinating content with freelancers or contractors
  • Familiarity with livestream production or event media coverage
  • Experience working with outdoor, endurance, or lifestyle brands


Compensation and Benefits


  • Hourly Rate: $18 to $22/hr, depending on experience
  • Complimentary entries to Aravaipa Running events
  • Comp time provided following race weekends


Schedule and Physical Requirements


This role involves working a minimum of 10 race weekends per year. Race days often beginbefore sunrise and extend into the evening. On-site coverage requires extended time outdoors in varying weather and terrain. Comfort with early mornings, physical activity, and unpredictable schedules is essential.
