ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Host at Hook & Reek, you are the first and last impression for our guests. You will be instrumental in helping to create a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. This position is perfect for someone who loves interacting with people and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
  • Provide guests with accurate wait times and manage waitlists.
  • Seat guests, provide them with menus and occasionally assist servers with initial drink orders.
  • Answer guest questions regarding the menu and Hook & Reel brand.
  • Provide accurate information regarding menu, pricing, hours, promotions, and policies.
  • Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
  • Observe and monitor table turnover by taking note of occupied, dirty or clean tables.
  • Clean and organize the front-of-house and host station.
  • Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  • Inform management of large parties, special requests, or guest concerns.
  • Answer phones professionally and courteously.
  • Handle to-go inquiries or direct them to the appropriate team member.
  • Ensure business cards, beverage menus, and other paper goods are clean and stocked.
  • Monitor restrooms periodically and notify management of any issues.
  • Maintain a positive, energetic, and hospitality-focused attitude at all times.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions:
  • Prior restaurant experience is not necessary but preferred.
  • Point-of-Sale systems experience.
  • Strong communication and a passion for delivering world-class service at every touchpoint.
