How will you make an impact? 

The primary responsibility of this position is to support manufacturing with respect to automated and semi-automated molding and assembly equipment. This includes a variety of automated material handling, assembly, decorating and packaging systems.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all site rules and regulations 

  • Maintain 5S standards in working areas and support across the site 

  • Start up and run molding, automation, and packaging equipment 

  • Respond to machine, robot, TCU, and secondary equipment alarms 

  • Initial and troubleshooting and support of machine, mold, and material problems 

  • Support production cells to maintain OEE of 85% or greater and scrap below 2% 

  • Identify actions to improve equipment efficiency and support implementation of ideas 

  • Use Redzone Software to capture downtime and actions related to improvement 

  • Active participation in daily Huddles and standup meetings 

  • Accurate completion of all paperwork in alignment with quality system standards  

  • Complete line clearance, cleaning, and machine changeovers between and during runs 

  • Make machine adjustments within running parameters to maintain throughput 

  • Support process and manufacturing engineering projects and activities 

  • Responsible for all mold change activities, including mold set-up, mold break down, hose-making, machine prep, resin loader cleaning, resin loading 

  • Support preventative maintenance team activities 

  • Other duties as requested 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Strong problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to determine and implement solutions effectively 

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities 

  • On-the-job training will be provided 

Experience / Qualifications 

  • 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Proven ability to analyze complex technical issues to the fundamental level and propose practical solutions preferred

  • Experience with various PLC formats with heavy emphasis on Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI hardware and software: SLC, PLC, ContolLogix, Panelview preferred

  • Experience in injection molding or similar manufacturing processes preferred

Education 

  • High School Diploma or GED required 

  • Preferred Associates degree in Engineering or a technical field. Equivalent experience will be considered, with a demonstrated record of self-development and continuous learning.
