ROLE SUMMARY


Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead is responsible for performing the tasks and responsibilities associated with various warehouse operations, including order picking, replenishment, shipping, receiving, and cycle counts. In addition to these duties, the Team Lead supports the Supervisor in ensuring warehouse operations follow best practices and that processes are understood and adhered to by all team members.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs multiple warehouse tasks, including receiving, order picking, replenishment, cycle counts, and shipping to support the on-time completion of daily activities and ensure customer service standards are met.
  • Communicates and collaborates with team members to ensure the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Provides training, guidance, and support to team members to carry out tasks safely, consistently, and efficiently.
  • Supports the onboarding and on-the-job training of new hires.
  • Encourages adherence to approved warehouse operating procedures, including the safe use of material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Oversees activities such as inspections, damage identification, replenishment, housekeeping, order picking, shipping, receiving, and cycle counts.
  • Escalates issues to the Operations Supervisor as required.
  • Leads daily shift briefings, ensuring team member concerns are acknowledged and addressed.
  • Contributes ideas for continuous improvement and supports the implementation of initiatives.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for workflow processes and RF scanner usage.
  • Ensures RF/IT-related issues are addressed promptly, including opening IT Track-It tickets and following up as needed.
  • Promotes teamwork by encouraging positive, two-way communication.
  • Assists the Operations Supervisor in monitoring daily productivity and quality targets.
  • May be required to support multiple shifts during peak periods or for vacation coverage to meet customer service requirements.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of receiving, order picking, replenishment, and shipping workflow processes.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a customer-focused environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three (3) years of warehouse experience, including operating material handling equipment (MHE) with a strong safety record.
  • Experience with RF-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably RedPrairie / Blue Yonder.
  • Forklift experience with equipment such as Raymond Reach, Dock Stocker, Counterbalance, and/or EPJ.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
  • Spends 100% of time on the warehouse floor, involving walking, standing, and bending.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
