Job description

Description The City of Redding is accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. What to expect from the Application and Exam Process Preliminary Timeline: Filing Deadline: July 5, 2026 Preliminary Screening of candidates: Week of July 13, 2026 Finalist Interview Process with the City Manager: Week of July 27, 2026 Following the closing date, resumes will be screened according to the qualifications outlined in the job brochure.

The most qualified candidates will be invited to personal interviews with Bob Murray & Associates. A select group of candidates will be asked to provide references once it is anticipated that they may be recommended as finalists. References will be contacted only following candidate approval.
