Job description

Job Brief:

The Lead Journeyman Electrician will provide on-site installation, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for a customer’s electrical products and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and completes Quality Assurance (QA) and or Quality Control (QC) redlines for construction drawings.
  • Interprets electrical, mechanical, and architectural schematics and drawings, adhering to electrical code specifications.
  • Repairs, adjusts, and replaces system components (i.e., sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.).
  • Pulls wire through conduits and holes; splices, joins, and/or connects wire to form circuits.
  • Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
  • Completes daily field work orders and maintains hours worked and equipment used.
  • Handles inventory transfers and provides monthly warehouse reports.
  • Mentors junior technicians through on-the-job training documentation.
  • Maintains up-to-date safety tickets and training.
  • Provides on-call support as needed.
  • Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must be a Journeyman or have interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in Electrical.
  • Standard First Aid/CPR with AED; H2S Alive, CSTS, CSO.
  • Ability to use pressure and or electrical test equipment to troubleshoot systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) drawings.
  • Ability to community with administration and management in a professional manner.
  • Work after hours and participate in an on-call schedule as required.
  • Strong history of good customer relations.
  • Technical training or understanding of oil and gas processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to learn and use an ERP (IFS) system and a remote work order (MWO/Aurena) system.
  • Work experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
  • Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.
  • Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
