Job title: Process Verification Technician

Reports to: Machining Side Supervisor

The Process Verification Technician is responsible for the correct machining of components in a high volume automotive organization. It includes precision work producing parts in a safe, efficient way while maintaining high quality.


Summary/Objective

  • Operate assigned equipment on a daily basis, such as: Setting up electronic components, understanding of machine mechanics, part changes, run rabbits and detect difference between good and bad parts, Feeder/Conveyor
  • Measures parts to ensure a high level of accuracy, reproducibility and repeatability using; Digital micrometers, Bench Gauges, Dial indicators, Digital calipers, Metric measurements
  • Will complete both hands on and automated inspection of parts and documents
  • Read and execute the completion of routing packets
  • Set up and run Valve seat and valve guide process verification work-centers to the established quality and productivity goals.
  • Perform changeovers to the established goals on all family sized products to include conveyors, feeding system and inspection machine.
  • Identify and report non-conforming parts to the effected work-centers
  • Pack and label finish product.
  • Maintaining and replacing red rabbit parts.
  • Assist other departments as needed
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to handle high volume production
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow process documentation including process prints and work instructions
  • Ability to understand and use metric measurements
  • Understanding of basic math equations
  • Meet quality, production and work center goals
  • The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience in a machining environment
  • Basic Computer skills including ERP Systems
  • Solid mechanical knowledge

Physical Demands

  • Required to stand for long periods of time and move about the facility
  • Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 40 lbs
  • Use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Work primarily in a plant environment
