Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for operating a box truck to pick up donated items, including small furniture, household goods, clothing, and other miscellaneous items, from donors. This position requires excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with donors, as well as the ability to safely lift and load heavy items onto the vehicle.

The Driver also maintains accurate records of all donations, including donor information, item descriptions, and quantities, ensuring all items are securely transported to the Company's warehouse or designated locations.

Overall, the Driver plays a key role in the organization's mission by collecting donations that are converted into funds for our charitable partners. This position requires a dependable and organized individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a box truck following all traffic rules and regulations.
  • Follow designated pickup routes efficiently to maximize the number of donations collected and minimize travel time.
  • Communicate with donors courteously and professionally while coordinating pickups.
  • Load and unload donated items into and out of the pickup vehicle safely.
  • Ensure that items are handled with care and securely packed to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pickup vehicle, conducting regular inspections, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Accurately record donation details, including item descriptions and donor information.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, thanking donors for their contributions and positively representing the organization.
  • Report any unique or valuable donations to management.
