Description:

Advanced Recycling Technologies (ART) specializes in the recovery of small, hard-to-capture non-ferrous metals from two primary waste streams: automobile shredder residue (ASR) and Waste-to-Energy (WTE) facility ash. With decades of proven industry experience, ART delivers innovative, and environmentally responsible solutions to extract valuable metal units from materials that have already passed through conventional recovery systems. The Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Plant, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining safety standards, and leading staff while operating equipment. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and technical expertise in all equipment and operations. This role will participate in the operations while providing leadership and support to staff, ensuring all safety and standard operating procedures are being met.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate equipment including front-end loaders, mini loaders, excavators, screening and conveyor systems.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, troubleshoot, and minor maintenance.
  • Monitor and adjust workflow to meet production demands.
  • Ensure employee compliance with all company safety standards including PPE, LOTO, machine guarding and others. Develop and maintain a strong safety-first culture within the team.
  • Responsible for daily production and maintenance reporting.
  • Train employees on safety protocols, operational standards, cleanliness and navigating various operating systems.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members and supervisors.


Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Hold all valid licensing and certification requirements.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a heavy equipment operator, preferably with screens and conveying equipment.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of recycling processes, equipment and industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, (OSHA, EPA, etc)

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed outdoors in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires standing, lifting of 50lbs, and operating machinery for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
