Job description

*CURRENT SHIFT AVAILABLE: 4PM-4AM*
The Recycling Sorter is responsible for ensuring proper placement and sorting recycled material on the conveyor line. The Recycling Sorter performs additional duties that directly contribute to the success of the Companyโ€™s primary function and enhance production in the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Plant. The Recycling Sorter is part of the MRF Plant team and reports directly to the MRF Plant Shift Lead, MRF Plant Shift Supervisor and MRF Plant Operations Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect materials and sort items into appropriate piles according to type, size, condition, coloring, and paper grade
  • Feed material onto conveyor
  • Pull contaminants out of conveyor belt using hands or proper tools
  • Stack, dump and organize boxes of material
  • Clean up conveyor and surrounding sorting line
  • Maintain surrounding work area
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and follow mandated guidelines for operating and maintaining equipment
  • Report any on the job incidents or equipment malfunctions to MRF Plant Shift Lead, MRF Plant Shift Supervisor and/or MRF Plant Operations Manager
  • Complete any additionally assigned tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the US
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Ability to work outdoors
  • Ability to work overtime and on weekends, if necessary
