JOB SUMMARY:

The Class A CDL Route Driver is responsible for the safe and timely pickup, loading, transport, and delivery of used tires from customer locations along assigned routes. The driver works as part of a two‑person team with a Route Helper and is responsible for both operating the commercial vehicle and assisting with the manual loading and stacking of tires. Routes are assigned by dispatch; drivers are responsible for managing daily route activities, maintaining professionalism at customer locations, and completing all required documentation accurately. This role requires strict compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and Liberty Tire Recycling safety and operational requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on assigned routes to remove used tires from customer locations.
  • Work as part of a two‑person team with a Route Helper to manually load, stack, and secure used tires onto the truck.
  • Manually handle and stack waste tires weighing up to 50 pounds each throughout the workday.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact at customer locations, including obtaining signatures and completing required service documentation.
  • Ensure loads are properly stacked, secured, and compliant with DOT and company safety requirements before transport.
  • Conduct required pre‑trip, post‑trip, and en‑route inspections of assigned equipment; complete DVIRs and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately.Accurately complete DOT logs, route paperwork, bills of lading, and required company or customer documentation.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and operational equipment at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, route helpers, and operations staff regarding route status, delays, or service issues.
  • Navigate assigned routes using maps, GPS, and dispatch instructions while accounting for traffic, weather, and site conditions.
  • Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers, tire stores, dispatch, and internal teams.
  • Follow all Liberty Tire Recycling safety policies, environmental standards, and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support waste tire removal operations.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Ability to safely operate Class A equipment in route‑based collection operations.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical labor, including lifting, stacking, and securing tires.
  • Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while operating as part of a team.
  • Clear and professional communication with dispatch, customers, and coworkers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age of 22 years old.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Must meet all FMCSA driver qualification requirements.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with DOT standards.
  • Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience or equivalent Class A CDL driving experience.
  • Ability to meet DOT physical, background, and DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Willingness to maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all customer and tire store locations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience performing manual loading and customer‑facing route service.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires extended periods of driving, frequent customer interaction, outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and repetitive physical labor including lifting, bending, stacking, and securing waste tires during route operations.

Education and Experience:

  • Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus.
