Metal Shredder Supervisor
CFC Recycling Inc. - Tullahoma, TN
CFC Recycling Inc. is seeking an experienced, safety-focused, and results-driven Metal Shredder Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our metal shredding facility. This position is responsible for supervising shredder personnel, ensuring safe and efficient production, maximizing equipment uptime, maintaining product quality, and promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong mechanical aptitude, experience in heavy industrial or scrap recycling operations, and a commitment to continuous improvement. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  1. Supervises and delegate daily work goals and activities for the shredder team.
  2. Work with General Manager and Traders to develop daily, weekly, and monthly production goals maximizing safety and efficiency to fulfill monthly sales.
  3. Oversee and assist in preventative maintenance plan for the shredder.
  4. Coordinate mechanical repairs or parts replacements with General Manager and Maintenance team.
  5. Assists daily with shredder operations.
  6. Proficient and able to fill any shredder team position.
  7. Manage a safe working culture and environment.
  8. Manage a high level of housekeeping and organization.
  9. Responsible for material quality control.
  10. Manage inventory levels.
  11. Report inventory transfers to General Manager and accounting team.
  12. Report daily production to General Manager.
  13. Coordinate with transportation when loads are ready for shipment.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of company, client, and employee information.
  15. Adapts positively to changing priorities, schedules, and operational needs.
  16. Support the overall operational goal and priorities of the facility and business.
  17. Perform other task as needed

Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Strong mechancical aptitude regarding heavy industrial machinery(shredders,shears,conveyors,hydraulic systems,electric components and controls )
  2. Experience with operating and maintaining heavy equipment(wheel loaders,skid steers,forklifts and material handlers)
  3. Ability to work Monday-Friday and on Saturdays as needed based on company needs and demands.
  4. 2 or more years in a leadership or supervisor role required
  5. High School Diploma, Ged or 2-5 years experience in metal recycling or a similar production field required
  6. Position can be very physically demanding and requires someone that can be able to perform the job without any restrictions bending, standing, lifting 50lbs and more, climbing, kneeling, twisting.
  7. Ability to work outside in all weather related elements
  8. Ability to work around loud noises,smells,dirt,dust,fumes,
  9. Recent experience leading a team of operators and workers
  10. Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills
