Job description

Machine Operator / Bagger Operator (Food Manufacturing)

What You'll Do:

  • Run packaging machines that fill, weigh, seal, label, and stack yeast products.
  • Check product weights and make sure packages are labeled correctly.
  • Inspect products for quality and report any issues.
  • Keep work areas clean and follow food safety and sanitation rules.
  • Complete production paperwork and logs.
  • Help with machine adjustments, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Lift and stack 50 lb bags throughout the shift.
Requirements
  • Previous food manufacturing experience required.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and food safety standards required.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Experience operating production or packaging equipment preferred.
  • Must wear steel-toe or composite-toe shoes.
  • Willing to train on forklift operation.
  • Able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule (3 days on, 3 days off), including nights.
Work Environment
  • FDA-regulated food manufacturing facility.
  • 12-hour shifts: 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM.
  • Some areas are cold (around 50°F) and others can be hot.
  • Strong yeast smell throughout the facility.
  • PPE required: hairnet, beard net (if applicable), lab coat, safety glasses, and ear protection.
  • No jewelry, long nails, fake lashes, or other items that could affect food safety.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
