Job description

The Municipal & Community Services Department is looking to hire a Solid Waste & Recycling Loader. If you would like to be a part of the City's most recognized team, a team that helps maintain our beautiful city, we would like to hear from you.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
  • Rides on the back of the packer truck, picking up bags of solid waste in residential areas and loads or throws the bags into the packer truck.
  • Unloads the packer truck at the sanitary landfill by operating hydraulic controls.
  • Assists with maintenance of the packer truck including pre- and post-trip inspections, cleaning behind the packer blade and body of the truck, lubricating the rear tracks, and maintaining overall truck cleanliness on a daily basis.
  • Assists the driver and other crew members in ensuring the safe operation of the packer truck.
  • Maintains a courteous and professional image with co-workers and with our community.
