Job description

Associate Recruiter - Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Real Estate Division
Build a Career Where Performance Drives Your Income!
KBIC is growing, and we're looking for ambitious, competitive, early-career professionals to join our Construction Practice in a candidate-delivery-focused recruiting role.
You'll become an expert in the construction talent market, identifying, engaging, and evaluating high-performing professionals for leading contractors, developers, and construction organizations. This is an opportunity to build valuable recruiting skills, develop a strong industry network, and create a high-income, long-term career.
Recruiting or construction experience is not required. We're looking for grit, coachability, resilience, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to win.
What You'll Do
  • Identify and engage construction professionals across commercial, industrial, civil, infrastructure, and specialty contracting markets.
  • Source candidates through targeted outreach, referrals, networking, research, and recruiting technology.
  • Build lasting relationships with project managers, superintendents, estimators, executives, and other construction leaders.
  • Manage candidate activity throughout the recruiting process, from initial outreach through interviews, offers, and placement.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of construction talent through consistent follow-up and market engagement.
  • Learn proven executive search and recruiting methodologies through structured training, coaching, and hands-on experience.
  • Develop a deep understanding of construction roles, companies, market trends, and hiring needs.

Why Join KBIC's Construction Practice?
  • Specialized Market Expertise: Build knowledge and credibility within a relationship-driven industry where skilled professionals are consistently in demand.
  • Candidate-Focused Role: Concentrate on finding, engaging, and delivering exceptional talent while partnering with experienced recruiters who lead client relationships.
  • Direct Access to Top Performers: Learn from accomplished recruiters and business leaders who have built successful careers in executive search.
  • Industry-Leading Training: Master proven sourcing, interviewing, candidate-management, and recruiting methodologies through structured training and hands-on coaching.
  • Entrepreneurial Culture: Thrive in a performance-driven environment that rewards initiative, ownership, consistency, and results.
  • Strong Earning Potential: Create a rewarding career with the opportunity to achieve six-figure earnings as your expertise and performance grow.
  • Competitive Compensation: Earn a base salary plus commission designed to reward successful candidate delivery and long-term performance.
  • Clear Career Growth: Pursue advancement into senior recruiting, account leadership, business development, or practice leadership based on your strengths and goals.
  • Supportive Team Environment: Join a collaborative culture that values accountability, flexibility, and excellence.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy generous PTO, a robust benefits package, performance incentives, and team celebrations throughout the year.

Who Thrives Here?
Successful team members often come from backgrounds such as:
  • Collegiate or competitive athletics
  • Management trainee programs, including Enterprise Rent-A-Car or similar organizations
  • B2B sales, inside sales, or high-volume outbound calling
  • Door-to-door sales
  • Customer-facing leadership or service roles
  • Construction, skilled trades, or construction-adjacent industries
  • Team environments requiring discipline, resilience, urgency, and accountability

We're less concerned about your previous job title and more interested in your drive, communication skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
What You'll Need to Excel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Competitive mindset and a high level of personal accountability
  • Resilience and the ability to remain motivated through rejection
  • Confidence initiating conversations with new people
  • Professional presence, maturity, and sound judgment
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Curiosity about construction companies, career paths, and market trends
  • Ability to work with urgency while maintaining a high standard of candidate care
  • Desire to build a long-term, performance-based career

About KBIC: For more than 40 years, Kaye/Bassman has helped organizations hire transformative talent. Our Construction Practice partners with contractors, developers, and other industry leaders to identify professionals who build teams, deliver complex projects, and drive long-term growth.
If you're looking for more than a job and want a career where your effort, relationships, and results directly influence your success, we'd like to meet you!
