What is a recruiter?

Recruiters are professionals who help organizations find and hire suitable candidates for job openings. They may work internally within a company's human resources department or externally for staffing agencies. Recruiters source candidates, review resumes, conduct interviews, and coordinate the hiring process. Their goal is to match qualified individuals with roles that fit their skills and the employer's needs. Effective recruiters build strong networks and maintain relationships with both employers and job seekers.

What do recruiters do?

The primary role of a recruiter is to match job seekers with job vacancies based on a candidate’s credentials and a company’s needs. A recruiter seeks out qualified candidates, then serves as a liaison between the candidate and the company to meet the demands of both parties regarding job duties and compensation. Recruiters save companies time by weeding out unqualified or unfit job seekers, and they help job seekers by connecting them with opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a recruiter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Recruiter, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of talent acquisition strategies, and a background in human resources or business are essential, often supported by a bachelor’s degree. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), sourcing platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, and HR certifications such as SHRM or PHR are commonly required. Excellent communication, active listening, and relationship-building abilities help recruiters stand out in engaging both clients and candidates. These skills are crucial for matching the right talent to organizational needs and ensuring a smooth hiring process.

What are some common challenges recruiters face when sourcing candidates, and how can they overcome them?

Recruiters often face challenges such as finding qualified candidates for hard-to-fill roles, standing out to top talent in a competitive market, and managing a high volume of applications efficiently. To overcome these hurdles, recruiters leverage creative sourcing strategies, utilize advanced applicant tracking systems, and build strong employer branding to attract passive candidates. Additionally, maintaining clear communication with hiring managers and regularly updating sourcing techniques can help ensure a smoother recruitment process.

Job description

Recruiter
Location:                              Miami, FL
Compensation / OTE:       $55,000 base + Variable ($110,000 total target Comp)

About ttg
ttg Talent Solutions is a talent solutions organization focused on building strong, long-term relationships with clients and candidates while delivering high-quality recruiting and workforce solutions. At ttg, recruiting is the foundation of our commercial model: professionals first learn how we deliver, then progressively develop broader account management, business development, client ownership, and revenue responsibility.

Position Overview
The Recruiter is the entry point into ttg's producer career path. The role is primarily focused on learning and executing the full recruiting lifecycle while developing a strong understanding of ttg's clients, industries, candidate markets, systems, and delivery standards. The objective is to become a strong independent recruiter first and, based on capability and results, progressively develop toward broader client and account responsibility.
What Makes ttg Different
  • AI-Powered ATS: Work in an AI-powered ATS designed to streamline recruiting workflows, improve organization, and reduce administrative friction.
  • ttg OPT: Present candidates through ttg OPT, our proprietary candidate-submission platform designed to showcase talent professionally and improve the client experience.
  • Candidate Sourcing Stack: Use LinkedIn Recruiter, job advertising, candidate databases, multi-channel outreach, and AI-enabled sourcing tools to connect with the right talent faster.
  • Path to Account Ownership: Learn the client side of the business from the beginning and earn broader account responsibility as your recruiting capability and results grow.
  • Career, Earnings & Culture: Build toward full-desk capability and greater financial freedom through performance-based upside, while working in a lean, entrepreneurial team that values relationships, accountability, and having fun along the way.

What You'll Do
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate presentation, offer coordination, and placement support.
  • Source and engage qualified candidates through our ATS, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, professional networks, direct outreach, and other approved tools.
  • Conduct structured candidate interviews and evaluate experience, qualifications, competencies, compensation, availability, and organizational fit.
  • Participate in client intake and qualification meetings to understand position requirements, business needs, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Prepare accurate, professional, and compelling candidate submissions and present qualified talent through ttg OPT.
  • Maintain timely and accurate candidate, client, and activity information in JobAdder and other ttg systems.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for current and anticipated client needs while developing knowledge of assigned industries, compensation levels, and market conditions.
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the recruiting and hiring process and deliver a high-quality candidate experience.
  • Learn assigned client accounts, participate in meetings and visits, and identify potential opportunities that can be developed with account leaders.
  • Meet established standards for recruiting activity, submission quality, placements, margin production, follow-up, and data discipline while developing toward Senior Recruiter and broader account ownership.
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
  • High-potential, commercially minded professional; recruiting experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with direct outreach, phone-based engagement, and relationship development.
  • Strong organization, urgency, professionalism, accountability, integrity, and follow-through.
  • Curious, coachable, team-first, and driven to learn the recruiting business and grow commercially.
  • Comfort using technology, data, AI-enabled tools, applicant tracking systems, and sourcing platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with recruiters, account leaders, and internal teams; English required.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Prior recruiting, sales, customer-facing, finance, operations, or other commercially oriented experience.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, job boards, or candidate databases.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools to improve research, sourcing, outreach, writing, or workflow efficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Spanish is a plus.
