Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Senior Center Supervisor, the Recreation Leader is responsible for the daily operational duties at the Center. This position is responsible for assisting patrons, maintaining a clean appearance at the center, and being knowledgeable of all programs and activities. This position is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service in all personal interactions with customers.

Examples of Duties Assist in oversight and implementation of Senior Center programs, activities, classes, and rentals. Provide Senior Center patrons with the best possible customer service by promptly answering telephones, managing customer requests/concerns, and assisting patron's needs. Assist Senior Center Supervisor with Senior Center's special events, major projects and fundraisers.

Communicates effectively and in a courteous manner with the customers and staff in person, in writing, via email or telephone. Must have flexible schedule to be able to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays (as necessary) and city special events. Perform daily activity set up/clean up, maintenance, upkeep, and routine cleaning of facility.

Using department software,register patrons for facility memberships and programs. Assist supervisor with other administrative duties and projects as assigned. Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, or hold up to 50 lbs.

Ability to use good judgement in handling customer requests, altercations and emergency situations. Ability to be creative, a self-starter, work with minimal supervision, and show effective leadership skills. Working knowledge of computer systems, software, and copier.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Amilia registration software and other miscellaneous software programs. Education and Experience Must be at least 16 years of age. High School diploma or GED preferred.

Valid Texas drivers license. Recreation and/or Gerontology background preferred. CPR/1 Aid certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
