Summary
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Facility.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be 20-34 per week. Must be able to life and carry objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

Serves as the liaison between management and front line customer service staff to ensure the effective communication of policies, procedures and operational processes. Assists management with developing effective tools to execute a quality customer service program and efficient and organized customer service desk areas at multiple recreation locations. Assists management with developing or maintaining Operating Instructions and customer guidelines in accordance with current AF, State and local regulatory guidance. Performs daily oversight of the customer service areas and reports problems promptly to management. Performs management/supervisor duties in the absence of the Supervisory Recreation Specialists. When direct??d, serves as the non-supervisory Recreation Specialist for continuity in the development and execution of outdoor adventure programming and Air Force directed programs. Identifies on the job training requirements to management and recommends a schedule for completion. Assists management with the execution and tracking of mandatory training requirements. Assists management with tracking facility work orders, project development and execution and property accountability. Provides recommendations to management for short and long-term APF and NAF capital improvements. May serve as a NAF and/or APF purchase card holder and perform tasks in IBPS. Executes preparation of management-level administrative documents when directed. Uses a variety of computer software to complete forms, reports and other documentation. Performs tasks and assists in the operation and minor maintenance of a variety of facilities and equipment. Visually inspects and/or tests loan and rental equipment for safe operation and demonstrates the safe and proper usage techniques for both. Teaches individual and groups core recreational activities. Performs all steps in the equipment and facility rental process to include scheduling reservations, processing transactions, issuing and receiving equipment in the point of sale (POS) system and physically and assessing damage fees and preparing damage reports as applicable. Answers phone calls and emails to supply requested information via internal sources or referral to external sources. Operates a computerized POS system and performs a full range of cash management and accountability duties that may include analyzing and correcting computer data reports. Processes NAF journal voucher and cashier reports and resolves errors therein. Demonstrates and sells retail merchandise. Maintains orderliness and aesthetic presentation of rental and resale display areas, develops proposals for new purchases and to maintain stock and arranges seasonal displays. Assists with inventories as required. Ensures proper price marking and sales of merchandise. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have progressively responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of this position. A minimum of two years' experience that provides a specialized knowledge of the types of recreational equipment, programs. and facilities utilized in this position is required. Cashier or sales experience is required. Experience in leading groups to accomplish projects organizational projects and objectives is highly desirable. Must successfully complete a physical examination and any other occupational health examination required. Must possess a current CPR and First Aid certification or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-I (NACI) background investigation. Must be able to communicate effectively and present a professional image. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The ability to obtain and maintain a valid state drivers' license is required due to the operation of a government vehicle to travel to accomplish duties and responsibilities. This is drug testing designated position due to the driving requirement and the incumbent is subject to random drug testing. Must be able to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
