Job description

ParadigmWorks Group, Inc. and Hartford Job Corps Center is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide to lead young adult students in recreational activities. Schedule: Wed 5pm-10pm; Sat 1pm-9pm; Sun 1pm-8pm. $20.19/hour. Experience in softer skills like sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, painting, and/or engaging youth in activities like hiking or volunteering on a farm or urban gardening. Plan and recommend activities and day trips that may include other Rec Aides. Transport small groups of students to events and outings. Prepare reports and case-notes as needed. Ensure a safe environment, following all safety and security protocols. Mentor and model professionalism. Encourage the student who is shy or reticent to participate. Must have valid driver's license and an impeccable driving record. HS or GED, College helpful. Experience working in a school setting. Strong computer and organizational skills. Must pass background check and pre-employment drug test (including testing for marijuana). Twelve paid holidays a year. Benefits provided as defined by Service Contract Act. Equal Opportunity Employer
