Experienced Mover & Driver – Disaster Recovery Team

SERVPRO is seeking an experienced, dependable mover and driver to join our Contents Restoration Team in Athens, Georgia. This position is ideal for someone with professional moving experience who is confident driving moving trucks, protecting furniture, and safely loading and unloading customers’ belongings.

Our team helps families and businesses recover after fires, floods, and other property damage. We need someone who takes pride in their work, treats customers’ belongings with care, and can lead by example on moving projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles and moving trucks to and from job sites
  • Inspect vehicles before use and immediately report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Protect, wrap, pad, pack, and move furniture and household belongings
  • Properly load and secure items to prevent shifting or damage during transportation
  • Safely unload, unpack, and place furniture and belongings
  • Assist with residential and commercial pack-outs, move-backs, and storage projects
  • Follow safe lifting, loading, driving, and job-site procedures
  • Maintain an organized truck, work area, and equipment
  • Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and project managers
  • Help direct less-experienced team members when needed
  • Work efficiently in fast-paced and changing environments

Required Qualifications

  • At least one year of professional moving, delivery, or furniture-handling experience
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • Five consecutive years of obtaining a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience safely operating moving trucks, box trucks, or similar vehicles
  • Ability to properly wrap, protect, load, secure, and transport furniture
  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Strong attention to safety and care of customers’ property
  • Dependable attendance and reliable transportation to work
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Professional attitude and good communication skills
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass a pre-employment 10 year background check
  • Pass required drug screening.
  • Availability to work overtime and varying schedules when needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with residential or commercial moving companies
  • Experience driving box trucks
  • Knowledge of proper furniture-padding and load-securing techniques
  • Forklift experience is a plus, but training can be provided
  • Experience leading or supervising a moving crew is a plus

Schedule

This is not a standard 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. position. Start and finish times vary depending on job locations, workload, and project requirements. Some days may begin earlier or end later, and overtime may be required.
