What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Recovery Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Recovery Intern, you typically need a background in psychology, social work, or counseling, often as a current student or recent graduate, along with a foundational understanding of substance use and recovery principles. Familiarity with case management systems, group facilitation tools, and data entry software is often required. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, active listening, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are crucial soft skills for supporting clients in recovery. These skills ensure effective support for individuals on their recovery journey, help build trust, and contribute to a positive team environment in recovery settings.

What are Recovery Interns?

Recovery Interns are individuals, often students or recent graduates, who assist organizations such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or disaster relief teams in supporting recovery processes. Their duties can include helping with patient care, administrative tasks, data collection, or supporting recovery programs under supervision. Recovery Interns gain hands-on experience in their field while contributing to the wellbeing and progress of individuals or communities in recovery. This role is typically temporary and designed to provide valuable training and exposure to real-world recovery work.

What are typical responsibilities and learning opportunities for a Recovery Intern in a healthcare setting?

As a Recovery Intern, you'll support the recovery team by assisting with patient care, documentation, and administrative tasks within a clinical or rehabilitation environment. You'll gain hands-on experience in patient interaction, learn about treatment plans, and observe the collaboration between nurses, therapists, and case managers. This role offers valuable exposure to the recovery process and provides opportunities to develop communication, organizational, and clinical observation skills, which are important for those considering a career in healthcare or social services.

About Titan Recovery Centers
Titan Recovery Centers is a recovery-focused behavioral health treatment organization dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. Their clinical team is committed to supporting clients through every stage of the recovery journey in a structured, collaborative environment.
The Opportunity
Titan Recovery Centers is seeking a Dual Licensed Clinical Intern to join their clinical team in Las Vegas, NV. This is a full-time, on-site role centered on group facilitation and direct clinical service delivery, well-suited for an intern-level clinician who holds or is actively working toward both a mental health and a substance use disorder credential. Free clinical supervision is provided for both licensure tracks, making this an exceptional opportunity to build hours and advance toward full independent licensure in a structured, mission-driven setting.
What You'll Do
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions as a primary clinical responsibility, delivering structured, evidence-informed programming to clients in a recovery-focused treatment setting
  • Provide individual counseling and clinical support to an assigned caseload
  • Conduct assessments, contribute to treatment planning, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure continuity and quality of care
  • Participate in clinical supervision for both mental health and substance use disorder licensure progression
  • Uphold program standards, professional ethics, and applicable Nevada licensing requirements

Requirements
Required:
  • Active intern licensure in Nevada as a Clinical Professional Counselor Intern (CPC-I) or Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFT-I)
  • Active or willing to obtain a substance use disorder intern credential in Nevada (CADC, LADC, or LCADC)
  • Strong group facilitation skills and genuine investment in working with clients in recovery
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered, and evidence-based care
  • Solid clinical documentation skills and ability to manage caseload responsibilities independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred:
  • Experience in substance use disorder treatment or co-occurring disorder settings
  • Familiarity with 12-step and other recovery-oriented frameworks
  • Prior group facilitation experience in a clinical or community behavioral health setting

Benefits
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary: Up to $56,000 annually, commensurate with experience and credentials
  • Free clinical supervision provided for both mental health and substance use disorder licensure tracks
  • Schedule: Full-time, on-site, Las Vegas, NV
  • Health Insurance with a 50/50 premium split
  • 401k with match
  • Paid Time Off
