Job description

At OneMain, Recovery Collectors work with existing customers to help them fulfill their financial commitments. They work directly with customers to set up repayments or settle account balances, offering suitable products or services to meet their needs. Additionally, they engage with customers who are nearing the end of their lease to facilitate either the purchase or return of the vehicle. Using skip tracing cools, Recovery Collectors connect with customers to address outstanding account balances and ensure timely resolution.

In the Role:

  • Help customers with financial servicing needs through inbound and outbound contact, utilizing negotiation skills to resolve account matters

  • Work with customers in a consultative manner, following all applicable laws, policies, and procedures

  • Prepare and mail Notice of Deficiency letters, affidavits for third-party collectors and legal teams, and garnishment paperwork for applicable parties, including court clerks, constables, and account employers.

  • Investigate, research, and track consumer information using online skip-tracing tools

  • Work together as both team member and individual contributor in a goal-oriented environment to meet personal and team targets

  • Determine account eligibility to transfer to appropriate third-party collection agencies

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • At least 1 year of experience in customer service, collections, or related field, with a focus on utilizing negotiation and influencing skills

Preferred

  • Experience in collections call center environment, preferable within the automotive or financial services industry

  • Active listening and communication

  • Skilled at achieving and exceeding goals

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment

Location: On Site- West Valley City, UT

Work Schedule:

The average work week is Monday through Friday from 9a-6p. The schedule includes one rotating Saturday every 6 to 8 weeks.
