Position Summary:
We are currently hiring a full-time Medical Records Specialist to work in our corporate office located in the Shavano Park area of San Antonio.
The Medical Records Specialist plays a vital part in maintaining accurate and secure health information for our patients, ensuring that records are properly organized, updated, and managed across electronic systems (currently Elation with archived records in eCW). Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Competitive compensation ($18-20/hr) and benefits including health insurance, vision, dental, generous PTO and more!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize, update, and maintain patient health records.
  • Mange incoming faxes, medical records-related emails, and mailed documentation, and medical records request processing.
  • Verifying accuracy of documentation added to patient files.
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Upload, download, scan, and file documents into the EHR system.
  • Follow all HIPAA Regulations
  • Support general administrative functions within the medical records department as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical records experience, preferably in an outpatient setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
