This internship is unpaid and designed to support students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in the field. Candidates may be eligible to earn academic credit through their college or university.

EEA's Human Resources Team is seeking a Human Resources Records Intern for the fall!  The Human Resources Records Intern provides administrative support to the Human Resources department by maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records. This role is responsible for reviewing personnel files, organizing documentation, ensuring records are complete and compliant, and uploading employee documents into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining confidentiality. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in human resources.

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Review employee personnel files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.

  • Organize, maintain, and update both physical and electronic employee records.

  • Upload employee documents into the HRIS or document management system, ensuring files are correctly assigned to the appropriate employee record.

  • Verify that all required employment documentation is properly filed and accurately indexed.

  • Identify missing, duplicate, or inaccurate records and work with the HR team to resolve discrepancies.

  • Ensure employee records are maintained in accordance with company policies and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate HR records, databases, and personnel files.

  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through meticulous data entry and validation processes.

  • Assist with digitizing and archiving personnel files.

  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across various platforms.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Support HR audits by preparing and organizing employee documentation.

  • Assist with other HR administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Familiarity with HRIS or document management systems is an asset but not required.

  • Strong communication and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong document management and filing skills.

  • Basic understanding of HR processes and employee recordkeeping.

  • Ability to identify inconsistencies and maintain data integrity.

  • This position is partially remote with a hybrid schedule that includes a minimum of one day in-office per week.
