Medical Hill Healthcare Center is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate resident records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting the clinical team with medical documentation needs.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, dependable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality while providing excellent administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Position Responsibilities
  • Maintain and organize resident medical records in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure medical records are accurate, complete, and up to date
  • Process admissions, discharges, and transfers by preparing and updating resident charts
  • File, scan, and retrieve medical documents as needed
  • Assist with chart audits and record reviews to ensure compliance
  • Coordinate with nursing, therapy, and administrative departments regarding documentation requirements
  • Protect resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with record requests and release of information procedures
  • Support survey preparation and regulatory compliance efforts
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or skilled nursing preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus
