Job description

At Expedia Group, we help travelers explore the world, one journey at a time. As a global travel company powered by passionate people, trusted partnerships, and leading technology, we connect travelers, partners, and advertisers through our consumer brands, B2B network, and travel advertising business.

Here, you'll do meaningful work that helps millions of people discover, book, and experience travel with more ease, confidence, and joy. Join us and build for travelers everywhere.

Introduction to the Team

Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including Employee Communications, Finance, Traveler and Partner Service Platform, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.

The Global Financial Technology organization is a strategic partner for all finance functions and a service delivery organization that ensures finance initiatives and dependencies are completed on time and within budget. As part of the Financial Close, Planning, and Compliance team, you will work on the platforms that power financial close, consolidation, and reconciliation processes that form the backbone of core Finance operations for Expedia Group.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the strategy, architecture, and roadmap across the Close, Consolidation, and Reconciliation (CCR) platform portfolio - Oracle Cloud GL, BlackLine, FCCS, TRCS, and EPCM - ensuring platforms are scalable, secure, auditable, and maintainable

  • Lead delivery of enhancements and operational improvements supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, including automation of reconciliation and journal entry workflows

  • Lead strategy and implementation of data integration pipelines connecting CCR platforms with upstream subledgers, ERP systems, and the Polaris data framework, ensuring financial data lineage and auditability

  • Ensure all solutions meet SOX controls, IT General Controls (ITGCs), audit requirements, and enterprise change management standards - proactively identifying and remediating control gaps

  • Establish and promote best practices for development, testing, release management, and performance optimization to build a stable, low-intervention operating model

  • Partner with Accounting, Tax Accounting, FP&A, Internal Controls, Treasury, Audit, and Finance Technology leadership to translate complex and evolving business requirements into actionable platform solutions

  • Lead and grow a blended team of Oracle Application Engineers, Data Engineers, and Functional Analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, coaching, and continuous development

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual close touchpoints, improve automation, strengthen audit confidence, and adopt emerging Oracle Cloud and AI capabilities across the platform

Experience and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Technology, or a related field with 10+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 7+ years of experience; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Hands-on experience across the CCR platform portfolio, including Oracle Cloud ERP General Ledger, FCCS, TRCS, BlackLine, and EPCM

  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, financial close and consolidation processes, SOX controls, audit requirements, and enterprise finance operations

  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering or functional teams, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and career development

  • Experience managing blended teams of FTEs and contractors across global locations

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, ambiguous initiatives spanning multiple platforms and stakeholder groups while influencing outcomes across cross-functional teams

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills across technical and business audiences, including Accounting, Tax, Internal Controls, Audit, FP&A, and Technology leadership

  • Experience in Agile or structured delivery environments managing cross-functional initiatives across multiple systems and teams

Preferred:

  • Deep expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP GL, including subledger close workflows, journal entry processing, and chart of accounts governance

  • Experience configuring and supporting Oracle TRCS for tax provision workflows and Oracle EPCM for cost allocation and data integration

  • Experience with Oracle FCCS, including consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, multi-currency translations, and period-end reporting

  • Experience designing integrations across Oracle Cloud GL, EPM modules, BlackLine, and enterprise data platforms

  • Familiarity with Alteryx for reconciliation automation or data analysis, and exposure to AI enablement opportunities within Oracle Cloud or BlackLine

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $184,500.00 to $258,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $295,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
