Job description

Stock Associate  Part-Time  Dierbergs Markets

A Stock Associate works as part of a team to stock and arrange merchandise while utilizing their eye for organization.  They are friendly, enjoy helping people, and are able to multitask with their responsibilities:  

  • Assist with stocking, product display and rotation, inventory and quality control  
  • Interact with customers and share your knowledge of the store's vast selection of items  
  • Operate and maintain department equipment such as safety cutter, baler, high lift and electric/hand jacks (must be 18 years old to operate some equipment)  
  • Count and sort incoming products to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices 
  • Examine stock for damaged product and place in designated areas 
  • Break down loads and move cases of product to aisles using two or six-wheeler 
  • Match order codes, UPC codes or product descriptions to shelf tags before stocking shelves 
  • Ensure that the store is well-stocked and looks showroom-ready- it's Dierbergs, and our customers expect the best 
  • Reconcile invoices and requisitions with product deliveries 
  • Set up and take down displays and/or shelves according to company standards 
  • Perform cashier or courtesy clerk duties when requested 
  • Stock an average of 60 cases per hour  
Essentials  
  • At least 16 years of age  
  • Basic math skills and computer skills (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)  
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and keep your work area safe and clean using company-approved equipment  
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays  
  • Prompt and regular attendance based on your schedule 
  • Adherence to our dress code, appearance, and personal hygiene standards 
  • Associates in food handling departments are required to receive a Hepatitis A vaccination (MO only) 
  • You may be cross-trained in other departments  
Physical Requirements  
  • Lifting & Carrying - Up to 50 lbs occasionally & up to 20 lbs frequently  
  • Pushing & Pulling - Up to 90 lbs of force occasionally  
  • Occasional - Sit & climb
