Position Summary

The Receptionist directs incoming telephone calls and greets visitors in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner. Provides general information and assistance to the public and employees. Performs routine office support functions and related duties as assigned.

Location: Headquarters in Cypress, CA 90630

Key Responsibilities

  • Using a multi-line telephone, answers and appropriately routes all incoming calls.
  • Greet visitors and direct to proper destination.
  • Receive, open, and date-stamp the mail.
  • Notify appropriate department of delivery/package arrival.
  • Respond to vendor requests for general and preliminary notice information.
  • Ship and log packages for expedited delivery.
  • Maintain the funds for the postage meter.
  • Prepare new file folders for Project Managers.
  • Order all office and job site supplies and assist with inventory of supplies.
  • Perform other routine clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain the reception office to present a professional environment.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience as receptionist/general office clerk.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
  • Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Familiarity with business departments, staff and their associated functions and responsibilities.
  • Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system, computer, and other standard office equipment. Handle a high volume of telephone calls with courtesy, speed, and accuracy.
  • Maintain effective working relationships; communicate with the public in a courteous and professional manner by telephone and in person.
  • Type accurately using Microsoft Office.
  • Work with general supervision; understand and carry out oral instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
