Job description

Patient Registration Receptionist-Som (Huntsville, Al)

Greets and registers patients in the clinic. Schedules appointments and tests. Answers phones. Prepares orders, distributes patient charts and updates patient information. Prepares and collects charge tickets, balances monies collected and prepares daily activity report. Acts as first point of contact for patients. Provides clerical support and services to staff as needed and assists patients with any needs they may have. Responds to the needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric. The receptionist will join a busy outpatient pediatrics clinic supporting three physicians at the UAB Huntsville Regional Medical Campus. Salary range: $15.00 - $17.00.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of related experience required. Preferred: Ability to input data and utilize an electronic medical record and scheduling system and/or ability to learn; Ability to provide professional communication via phone; Ability to type well and utilize a computer for basic functions; Experience with patient referrals preferred. Ability to work well in a fast-paced clinic; extraordinary customer service skills; dependability and a can-do attitude; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
