York Builders Association Workforce NOW Foundation is looking to add a part time Program Assistant to their team.
About the Foundation:

The YBA Workforce NOW Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the next generation of skilled trades professionals. Through hands-on experiences, community partnerships, and career exploration opportunities, we connect students, schools, and employers to strengthen the future workforce in the building industry.

Position Summary:
The Program Assistant supports the Executive Director in coordinating events, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of Workforce NOW Foundation programs.

Key Responsibilities:
Event & Program Coordination
  • Annual Career Fair: Recruit businesses and schools, coordinate logistics, and assist with event promotion and setup.
  • Construction Career Days: Recruit host companies and coordinate with hosts and schools to schedule tours, manage communication, and oversee event details and timelines. Attend tours, manage attendance, and communicate the day of each event.
  • School Zone & Fundraiser at the Home & Garden Show: Work with the Executive Director to organize this annual fundraiser, and recruit schools to participate in the School Zone area, managing registration and coordinating event logistics.
  • Annual Reception: Assist in planning and executing the Foundation’s annual reception, including sponsorship outreach and event coordination.

Pre-Apprenticeship Administration
  • Support the Pre-Apprenticeship Program and other training programs by managing State and HBI enrollments, maintaining attendance and progress records, and communicating with students and partners. Represent the Foundation during training when needed.
  • Manage communications, including reminder emails, online coursework tracking, and documentation updates.
  • Maintain marketing and outreach material inventory for events and programs.
Community Engagement
  • Represent the Foundation at school and community events, career fairs, and presentations.
  • Effectively communicate the mission, programs, and opportunities offered by the Foundation.
Administrative Support
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Executive Director as assigned.
  • Support data entry, scheduling, correspondence, and other organizational needs.

Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable interacting with educators, business leaders, students, and community members.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • This is a flexible part-time role (roughly 20 hours a week) that will require some evening and weekend events.
