Shipping & Receiving Clerk

The present company was formed in 1959 when the Magnethermic Corporation acquired the assets of Ajax Electrothermic Corp. combining their expertise and capabilities.

Position Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate handling, movement, and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials. This role supports warehouse operations by ensuring shipments are received, verified, packaged, and shipped efficiently while maintaining inventory accuracy and a safe, organized work environment. The position requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Job Duties:

- Receive incoming shipments; verify accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders

- Track and document shipments within inventory and logistics systems

- Tag, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations

- Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders accurately and efficiently

- Build custom crates and pallets to support safe transportation of finished goods

- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) to move materials

- Maintain accurate inventory levels and support cycle counts as needed

- Identify and resolve discrepancies related to shipments or inventory

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment

- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

- Work independently across multiple warehouse functions as needed

What you need to be successful:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Valid driver’s license

- 5+ years of experience in shipping, including crate building for finished goods

- 3+ years of forklift operating experience

- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly

- Experience with inventory control and shipping/receiving processes

- Basic computer skills with experience entering data into systems

Preferred Qualifications:

- Forklift certification

- Experience with ERP or inventory management software

- Strong woodworking skills (crate and pallet building)
