Job Summary:  

The Site Manager provides general quality guidance to all managers and supervisors in accordance with the Quality manual.  Provide essential training and resources.  Solicits input from Production Control Manager, Business Unit Manager, and Quality Manager to improve quality and make sound decisions regarding quality issues.  Ensuring the GAA Quality System is established, implemented, improved, and maintained to the current revision status at our other GAA facilities.  The Site Manager is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the facility and equipment. The Site Manager is responsible for directing the daily activities of the warehouse, including labor scheduling, supervision, and proper utilization of space, equipment, and manpower.

 

Duties/Responsibilities: (Essential functions)

Operations

Develop and direct programs to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility.  Plan and schedule all distribution services, including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities, to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.  Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.  Plan long-range labor needs based on sales forecasts and input from management.  Make recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations.

Layout

Develop a space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards.  Monitor the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.  Develop and implement an effective product locator system and update, as necessary.

 

 

 

Labor Management

Direct the operations of the warehouse supervisory personnel to achieve prescribed objectives.  Develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development.   Match the skill and background of personnel to the work required.  Apply sound communication and motivational techniques, create programs to supervise, counsel, and discipline subordinates.   

 

Shipping/Receiving

Assure that customer orders are picked up and shipped in a timely fashion within prescribed cost levels.  Develop and implement an effective receiving operation that minimizes cost and ensures receiving paperwork is processed accurately and promptly.

Budgeting/ Reporting

Participate in the preparation of budgets, revenue analysis, and account analyses.  Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding warehouse operations.

Qualification Requirements/Education/Skills/Abilities:

  • A broad range of management skills is required, with particular emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, communication, and planning.
  • Must work safely and adhere to all company and customer safety policies and procedures, and comply with necessary PPE as required.
  • Must have regular and predictable attendance.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Must have a good working relationship with team members of all levels. 
  • Must possess a positive teamwork attitude and get along well with others.
