Job Summary:

As a Receiving Supervisor, you will guarantee that our receiving operation runs efficiently by overseeing all of receiving, and supervise the receipt of all in-bound/outbound products with accuracy and speed. You will be responsible for supervising all receiving team members and providing guidance to any others working within area of responsibility.

You will be active on the warehouse floor, walking the aisles and docks to coach your team and proactively address areas of opportunity. You will operate in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment, ensuring that safety and efficiency standards are not compromised.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise warehouse operations including but not limited to receiving, replenishment, unloading, checking, and safety processes in a cold perishable and freezer warehouse environment.
  • Ensure proper product temperatures are reviewed, validated, maintained and documented with date, code and count in WMS (warehouse management system) from arrival at dock until put away, ensuring quality of products is never compromised
  • Ensure trucks are unloaded properly and safely
  • Ensure all pallets are tagged and recorded appropriately
  • Must ensure the accurate location of product and protection of the same is adhered to by all employees
  • Manage Incident Rate (OIR) and Lost Time Incident Rate (LTI) by monitoring sanitation, safe working conditions, ensuring safety policies are followed, holding pre-shift meetings and proper usage of material handling equipment
  • Monitor/audit daily for GMP, COOL, HAACP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and other food safety guidelines
  • Account for any inventory losses/product shrink
  • Complete and file error and exception walk through template, pre-shift assignment and update template and equipment condition checklists
  • Ensure Emergency Contact list for team members and building conditions are up to date Understand the Emergency Procedures, ensure they are accessible and participate in update reviews
  • Check computerized time/attendance on a daily basis to verify team members have the proper time clock punches in the system
  • Ensure all team member forms for Time Adjustment, PTO requests, etc. are coordinated for staffing purposes and turned into HR timely for processing in the correct pay period
  • Review and act based on daily and weekly WLM and Utilization reports to ensure acceptable levels of performance are maintained
  • Ensures all paperwork (logs, driver bills, operational documents) are properly maintained
  • Collect/analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions
  • Participate in the hiring process to include interviews, selection, etc.
  • Onboarding, retention, and training
  • Conducts performance reviews for team members
  • Provides input to manager regarding promotions and terminations
  • Crosstrain in all receiving team positions to stay current on duties, training and reaching minimum productivity levels
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
  • 2 years related warehouse experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience in a warehouse environment preferred
  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Handle and prioritize requests from multiple sources
  • Ability to apply strong math skills that result in identification of opportunities and justify action plan recommendations
  • Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback, coaching, and counseling
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends, and holidays

Environmental Job Conditions:

  • Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
  • Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
  • Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
  • Fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
  • Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
  • Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
