POSITION SUMMARY
BNS is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented ITAD Technician I / Shipping & Receiving Specialist I to support our warehouse and IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) operations. This role combines warehouse receiving, shipping, inventory management, and basic IT asset processing. The successful candidate will help ensure equipment is accurately received, inspected, inventoried, processed, and prepared for shipment while maintaining a safe, organized warehouse environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping & Receiving
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders
  • Inspect shipments for accuracy and damage and report discrepancies
  • Unload, organize, and stage incoming materials
  • Label, sort, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations
  • Prepare outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, palletizing, and documentation
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers while ensuring proper documentation is completed
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions within inventory management systems
  • Assist with inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities

IT Asset Disposition (ITAD)
  • Receive and process incoming IT equipment for refurbishment, redeployment, resale, or recycling
  • Identify, label, and accurately record equipment into inventory databases
  • Perform basic equipment inspection and functional testing following established procedures
  • Prepare assets for processing by cleaning, sorting, organizing, and staging equipment
  • Assist with asset tracking throughout the ITAD process
  • Support data security procedures by following company chain-of-custody and handling requirements
  • Maintain organization of processing areas and inventory locations

General Responsibilities
  • Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (training or certification provided if required)
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory, or logistics experience preferred but not required
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with inventory management or warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Experience working with computer hardware, electronics, or IT equipment
  • Familiarity with barcode scanners and inventory tracking systems

PHYSICAL ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach above shoulder level, and twist while handling materials
  • Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements, including grasping, sorting, scanning, and packaging items
  • Ability to climb ladders or step stools as needed to access inventory
  • Safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment (if certified or trained)
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse environments, including fluctuating temperatures, dust, and moderate noise levels
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read labels, packing slips, inventory documents, and computer screens
  • Sufficient hearing and communication ability to safely work around equipment and interact with team members
