Job description

JOB PURPOSE

The Receiving Associate will assist in a variety of warehouse duties including receiving, unloading, and loading trucks, accurately fulfilling purchase orders, operating inventory controls and system, and keeping warehouse stocked with essential goods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read packing slips and purchase orders to ascertain description; sizes, colors, and quantities of merchandise; to fulfil orders.
  • Perform all functions of cargo handling including, but not limited to processing, loading, and off-loading freight.
  • Responsible for storing and assisting with inventory of products.
  • Accurately maintains inventory system.
  • Prepare bulk orders to be transported to other locations.
  • Identify damaged, loss, or surplus of goods and materials during the receiving process.
  • Builds and breaks down cargo containers and pallets using necessary equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts.
  • Sorts and labels freight using necessary equipment.
  • Verify piece counts and weights on all shipments accurately.
  • Maintains proper accountability of serialized items during and post shipping.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years warehouse experience
  • Ability to perform work accurately, thoroughly, and timely with quality output.
  • Dependable, Detail- and Deadline-Oriented, Time Management Skills, Safety Awareness
  • Maintains a Positive attitude.
  • Career and goal driven with a desire to grow with the company, and focused on the betterment and overall strategic picture of the organization.
  • A good team player with the ability to take direction and follow through on tasks.
  • Working knowledge of pallet jack and/or forklift certified a plus
  • Maintain confidentiality as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an operational warehouse environment. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours. Overtime may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the worker to be constantly standing, walking, carrying, twisting, bending, seeing, stooping, balancing, hearing, as well as handling paperwork. Worker will be lifting objects weighing from less than 20lbs to 60lbs.
