Position Summary

The Parts Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing OEM parts within the dealership’s parts department. This role ensures all shipments are received, inspected, recorded, packaged, and shipped according to dealership and manufacturer standards. The Parts Shipping & Receiving Associate supports inventory accuracy, maintains an organized warehouse environment, and plays a key role in supporting both customer orders and internal service department needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming OEM parts shipments, verify contents against packing slips, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
  • Accurately log incoming parts into the dealership management system (DMS).
  • Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders according to dealership and carrier requirements.
  • Ensure all parts are labeled correctly and routed to appropriate bin locations or staging areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping/receiving zone and warehouse area.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities as needed.
  • Work closely with parts counter staff, drivers, and service personnel to support efficient parts flow.
  • Handle returns, core processing, and warranty parts following OEM guidelines.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (training provided if required).
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or automotive parts preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders and documentation.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced, physical environment.
  • Basic computer skills: experience with a dealership management system is an asset.
  • Ability to lift and move parts and boxes (typically up to 50 lbs.)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or automotive fields is an asset.
