Responsibilities

The Warehouse Receiving Supervisor plans, organizes and monitors the receiving and distribution of all merchandise received from suppliers, ensuring a smooth work flow and a consistent operation so that received merchandise is distributed to its respective stocking zones in the warehouse in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

  • Maintain a high level of receiving productivity and efficiency
  • Maintains a staffing level to accomplish the receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of receiving associates
  • Ensures the receiving associates are capable of safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations
  • Develops crew leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew members.
  • Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish receiving mission in a safe, effective manner.
  • Monitors the unloading of all merchandise into the receiving department; ensures merchandise are staged for speedy receiving process, ensures receiving reports accurately report merchandise received.
  • Ensure completeness and acceptable condition of shipments.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
  • Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.
  • Monitors and measures receiving performance for accuracy of locator and receiving reporting.
  • Prepares bills of lading for any outgoing shipments.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Staff Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of receiving agents
  • Counsels, records and discipline receiving associates as necessary.

Supervise Operations:

  • Maintain a meticulous standard for cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the receiving department.
  • Maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that safety and compliance practices meet DOT and OSHA standards
  • Maintain 5S warehouse principles are administered and followed on a routine basis
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
  • Maintain and promote workplace safety
  • Securing and transferring cash or other assets.
