DSG is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver in our Fort Dodge, IA location. In this full time, hourly position, work is typically performed between the hours of 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary on occasion according to business needs. As a Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for all aspects of warehouse operations, including but not limited to: order pulling, shipping & receiving, putting product away, handling and preparing product for shipment, and maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work environment. On occasion, assistance in the local delivery of products to customer jobsites may be required.

A Typical Day in the Life of a Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver at DSG:

  • Accurately pull material from location to fill each order
  • Pack, label and put filled orders in proper locations for delivery
  • Regular operation on warehouse equipment (forklift, picker, turret, etc., training/certification provided)
  • Ensure a clean, safe working environment: sweep and mop floors, clean and dust shelves, sort and dump trash in appropriate bins
  • Adhere to all safety and compliance protocols and procedures
  • Use computer and/or RF scanner to check on status, availability and location of product
  • Maintains proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required
  • Notify Branch Manager about shortages or overages in inventory
  • Work with fellow warehouse associates to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment· Load delivery trucks as needed
  • Inspect trucks before delivery to ensure that they are in good working order and will pass road inspection, such as checking tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, etc.; report any vehicle problems and/or set appointments to get problems fixed
  • Drive to various customer locations, typically within 125 miles of branch location
  • Unload materials at customer businesses, jobsites, or warehouses per instruction
  • Stay compliant with DOT/FMCSA and OSHA regulations, including the completion of training activities as required by DSG policy and/or regulatory authorities
  • Maintain a good driving record
  • Handle calls for Warehouse as needed
  • Assist in Receiving as workload permits
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

A Successful Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver Typically Has:

  • A valid Driver's License (required) and current medical card (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Basic product and warehouse or delivery knowledge that would normally be acquired in one to three years of applicable experience.
  • Safety training on material handling and forklift driving.· Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
  • The physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
