Job description

We are seeking a full-time Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team. We are looking for a qualified candidate with Shipping & Receiving experience to assist with inbound and outbound products as well as various shop duties.


Jewett Automation is a leading systems integrator specializing in the design and development of automated manufacturing and assembly systems. Our diverse experience encompasses indexing cam-driven assembly systems, robotics and vision technologies, and high-speed continuous motion systems. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional personal attention to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Receives incoming orders, checks for damages or missing components of shipments.
  • Receives, documents and delivers inbound shipments to proper location in shop in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work directly with Purchasing Manager and Assembly Techs to ensure parts are staged correctly for assembly.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area and shop environment.
  • Delivery and pick up of materials around Richmond.
  • Various other tasks as assigned by Purchasing Manager or Shop Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a Shipping, Logistics or Supply Chain role.
  • Must be able to work from 8am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday.
  • A valid Virginia Driver’s license is required.
  • Forklift Certification (Preferred but not required and will train).
  • Working knowledge of machine shop practices.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with others.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Responsible and dependable, good attendance is required.
  • Highly organized.
  • Multi-tasker.
  • Knowledge of pallet building.
  • Knowledge of rigging (preferred – training provided if necessary.)
  • Must have experience with ERP Systems.
