Job description

This role is an Onsite Role: This role requires full-time presence at our Salem, Virginia office.

Responsibilities:

The Receivingย Coordinatorย is responsible forย scheduling and directing all work activities on the receiving dock as well as communicating with Dispatchers, Carriers, and the Transportation team.ย Theย Coordinatorย mustย ensure that the process of receiving and the inspectionย of goods are consistent with the company's quality, conformity, and Lean Manufacturing standards.ย Theyย are responsible forย training new permanent and temporary personnel to perform any job assignment in the department safely and efficiently.ย Theย Coordinatorย is responsible forย the inspection of inbound quality of product (pallet, carton, & individual unit), labor efficiency (KPI) reporting, receiving dock/warehouse location accuracy, and for conducting daily safety meetings to promote awareness.ย Theย Coordinatorย must have full working knowledge of DSI, JD Edwards, and SAP.ย Coordinatorย will also be expected to work in other areas of the Salem facility as business dictates.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Minimum of two years lead experience or minimum of five years receiving experience.ย 
  • Excellent planning,ย prioritizationย and organizational skills.ย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.ย 
  • Excellent leadership and people skills.ย 
  • Must be proficientย in Microsoft Office, Word,ย and Excel.ย 
  • Must be able to safelyย operateย material handling equipment, including forklifts, power hand jacks, sit-downย counter balanceย trucks, etc. and train others.ย 
  • Mustย demonstrateย the ability toย utilizeย creative thinking to obtain all departmental goals.ย 
  • Must be willing to work overtimeย andย weekends.ย 

Shift hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

The base pay range for this position is $21.00 / hour; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.

Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits. Employees are covered by the company-paid basic life insurance policy and company-paid short-term disability insurance (the benefit commences upon hire and allows for a portion of base salary for up to 26 weeks if you are disabled). Other benefits offered to employees include but are not limited to the following: long-term disability, supplemental life insurances, flexible spending accounts, critical illness insurance, group legal, identity theft protection, etc. Employees are also able to enroll in our 401k Retirement Savings Plan.

Employees will also receive 3 weeks of vacation, pro-rated based on date of hire for the 1st year of employment and twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Vacation will depend on role.
