Real Estate Development & Investments Intern

Location: Houston, TX (on-site)

Job Type: Part-time, Internship (paid, hourly)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Real Estate Development & Investments Intern to gain hands-on experience supporting our acquisitions, development, and asset management teams. This part-time internship, held during the school year, is designed for students interested in commercial real estate investing and development who want exposure to live transactions while learning directly from experienced professionals.

Throughout the internship, you will assist with active investment opportunities, market research, financial analysis, and development projects while building the technical and analytical skills necessary for a career in real estate private equity or development. High-performing interns may be considered for full-time opportunities upon graduation.

Key Responsibilities

Acquisitions & Underwriting

  • Support the underwriting of prospective acquisition opportunities by gathering and organizing financial and property data
  • Assist in reviewing rent rolls, operating statements (T-12s), and other due diligence materials
  • Learn how acquisition models are built and assist with updating Excel financial models under the guidance of senior team members
  • Conduct market research on comparable properties, rents, sales, and demographic trends to support investment decisions

Development & Project Support

  • Support feasibility analysis for ground-up and redevelopment projects, including site constraints, zoning, floodplain, and density analysis
  • Assist with tracking project budgets, lender draw requests, and construction progress updates
  • Help coordinate due diligence materials including surveys, environmental reports, and entitlement documentation

Asset Management & Portfolio Support

  • Assist with operating performance tracking, leasing updates, and variance analysis
  • Support preparation of investment memos, internal presentations, and investor reporting materials

Capital & Strategic Initiatives

  • Assist in preparing investor presentation materials and supporting research for capital-raising initiatives
  • Support strategic research for new investment opportunities and asset classes

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills preferred but not required; training provided
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
  • Interest in real estate private equity, development, and investments
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
