Real Estate Associate Attorney

Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 national law firm, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join its established Real Estate Practice Group. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regarded real estate team handling sophisticated commercial transactions in a collaborative and collegial environment. The practice is known for advising on complex, high-value matters across a broad range of asset classes and regulatory frameworks, offering meaningful responsibility and strong opportunities for professional growth.

Candidate Profile

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in DC, Maryland, and/or Virginia, in good standing
  • 1-4 years of substantive experience in commercial real estate transactions
  • Experience handling commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, and leasing
  • Exposure to mixed-use, condominium, and multifamily projects
  • Familiarity with real estate regulatory matters, including TOPA, rights of first refusal (ROFRs), and rent control, is strongly preferred
  • Strong background in reviewing title insurance, surveys, and related due diligence materials
  • Exceptional legal research, drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to superior client service, with interest in direct client contact and business development opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing matters
  • Assist with development projects, including mixed-use, condominium, and multifamily developments
  • Advise clients on local and federal regulatory issues impacting real estate transactions
  • Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, leases, development agreements, and related transactional documents
  • Coordinate multi-jurisdictional transactions and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct legal research and prepare client-ready memoranda and transaction summaries
  • Participate in client meetings, industry events, and business development initiatives
